Case note: irrigation scope corrected before grant award

A vegetable cooperative applied for funding for borehole equipment, mainline and drip irrigation over 18 hectares. The supplier quotation described pump capacity but omitted the assumed borehole yield and priced laterals for 24 hectares.

We reconciled each quantity with the field plan, marked the excess lateral allowance and requested the pump-selection basis. A revised hydraulic schedule supported a smaller pump while retaining the correct mainline. The report recommended approving the evidenced system cost and holding the electrical connection allowance until an installation quote was supplied.

The committee did not have to choose between approving an inflated total and declining the whole irrigation component. It recorded two conditions against defined values.

We asked for a desk review of a packhouse quotation. Bundlepathbase confirmed the pricing comparison but would not express an opinion on structural adequacy without drawings and an engineer. That meant another appointment, which was not in our first timetable, yet it prevented us from treating a commercial check as technical certification.
