Fees built around the file

Audit fees reflect the number and variety of cost lines, evidence quality, funding rules and whether physical verification is required.

Typical fee ranges

Application expense verification

From R18,500 excluding VAT. A straightforward desktop audit with one budget, up to 35 material cost lines and one consolidated evidence request usually falls between R18,500 and R32,000.

Quotation reasonableness review

From R9,800 excluding VAT. This covers one defined cost group and up to three comparable quotations. Broader market enquiries or technical specification work are estimated separately.

Post-award expenditure check

Quoted after a record scan. The fee depends on transaction population, sample size, number of disbursements and whether assets need to be observed on site.

What changes the estimate

We consider the total cost-line population, number of suppliers, infrastructure complexity, missing schedules, related parties, multiple farm locations and the decision deadline. An urgent engagement is accepted only when a sound review remains possible; we do not shorten evidence procedures to meet an unsuitable date.

Travel outside eThekwini, accommodation and independent specialist fees are listed separately and need approval before they are incurred. The written estimate states deliverables, assumptions and any cap.

Payment

For first-time clients, a 40% engagement deposit secures the review window. The balance is due on delivery of the draft findings. Larger post-award engagements may be billed at agreed milestones. No fee is linked to whether funding is approved.
